There is one because a cape takes more fabric than anything else Lissette makes, and this bolt is finite. When the jacquard is gone the cape goes with it, along with the shirt, the beret, the tuxedo bandana, the bag holder and the scrunchie cut from the same yardage.
It is sized from the neck and from the length along the back, so it falls without dragging. It is the piece people buy for weddings and for photographs, and it is the most formal thing in the shop.
Common questions
- Why is there only one cape?
- A cape uses more fabric than any other piece, and Lissette works from one bolt at a time. Making a second design would mean not making the shirt, the beret and the bandanas that come out of the same jacquard.
- What measurements does a cape need?
- Two: the neck, measured where the collar sits with two fingers of slack, and the length from the neck to the base of the tail so it falls without dragging on the ground.
