Each one is cut from a bolt that also produced something for a dog: jacquard, soft denim, floral, palm tree and birthday. A $5 denim scrunchie is the same denim as a $25 denim dog shirt.
They are sewn on a covered elastic, so they hold without leaving a crease or pulling at fine hair. They are also the piece people buy several of at once, which is worth knowing before the fabric runs out.

- Why are the scrunchies so inexpensive?
- They use the smallest amount of fabric of anything in the shop, and Lissette cuts them from what is left after the larger pieces. The cloth is identical to the dog piece it matches.
- Will a scrunchie damage fine hair?
- The elastic is covered rather than exposed, which is what causes snagging and creasing. These are made to hold a ponytail without leaving a mark.
